Are you an HBO or university student and do you want to experience the atmosphere of a student competition? This is your chance! Maybe you can even call yourself the Dutch Champion Student swimming for a year at your favorite distances. In order to participate in the Dutch Open Championships for Students (Open Nederlands Kampioenschap Studenten (ONKS) in dutch) you have to be a member of a swimming association. This does not necessarily have to be a student swimming association, but can also be a ‘regular’ swimming association. The competition will always be followed up by a dinner and a (theme)party. All particpants are always invited. Students who want to stay the night after the party can get a sleeping place at members of the organizing association, but students who cannot go back home by train during the night have priority.
At Saturday the 29th of February 2020 the last ONKS took place. The competition was held in Optisport Sportboulevard Dordrecht (long course). In collaboration with the KNZB and Stichting NSZ the student swimming and water polo association DSZ WAVE was the organizer of the 3rd edition of these Championships. Studentensport Nederland (SSN) made an after movie and you can find the latest news at our news page.
The next ONKS will take place in February 2023 in Wageningen. Participation costs will be €7,50. For this amount you’re allowed to start at two individual programs and the relays. Once registration opens, you can register by filling in the lxf document (in dutch) and sending it to firstname.lastname@example.org It is also possible to join the dinner and/or a party afterwards. This will cost €8,00. Sleeping places will cost €2,00 per night, for the Friday and Saturday night. The costs for the full event are thus €19,50. The deadlines for registration and changing your registration are yet unknown, but they will be at the beginning and halfway February. The program will be as follows (still subject to change):
